Traditionally practiced in Pakistan, India, Africa and the Middle East for over 5000 years. The natural henna plant, turned into a paste, was used as a way to cool the body. The paste would leave a stain, so people began to experiment, making patterns and decorating their bodies. Today, in the West and all over the world, people have adopted these traditions as a way of adorning the body through celebration.
